Retrofit / extension of Epsom 1960s bungalow into contemporary house
Epsom Conservation Area
This project has transformed a dated 1960s Chalet Bungalow into a contemporary, yet contextual property within a Conservation Area in leafy Epsom, Surrey. Working closely with the client, a high-end furniture supplier, the project saw the existing property comprehensively remodelled to create a bright and spacious family home.
This project is an excellent example of sustainable re-use whereby existing tired building stock can be brought sharply into the 21st Century.
Zinc, render and slate were chosen early on in the process as the primary cladding materials. Two different colours of zinc were chosen in order to complement materials on the surrounding buildings, and sharp and innovative detailing to the exterior and interior plays a major part in the final overall composition.
The project received some press and was published in Ideal Home magazine.
